La biotecnológica española Oryzon Genomics ha dado un salto espectacular en el mercado bursátil con un repunte del 7%. ¿La razón? Un puñado de nuevas patentes internacionales para su fármaco estrella vafidemstat que promete revolucionar el tratamiento de trastornos psiquiátricos.
Con las acciones rozando los 1,92 euros, Oryzon se ha convertido en la estrella indiscutible del Mercado Continuo español. Y no es para menos. La compañía acaba de anunciar que Australia, Malasia y México han dado luz verde a patentes clave para vafidemstat.
Esto blinda su propiedad intelectual hasta, al menos, 2038 en Australia y 2040 en los otros dos países. Además, ha puesto una sonrisa de oreja a oreja en la cara de los inversores.

El mercado biotecnológico es como una montaña rusa y Oryzon acaba de subirse a uno de los vagones más vertiginosos. Con estas nuevas patentes, Oryzon no solo asegura su exclusividad en mercados claves, sino que también manda un mensaje claro: están aquí para quedarse.

Y ojo, que no es una patente cualquiera: se suma a las que ya tienen en Europa, Corea y Rusia. Malasia y México también se han subido a este tren, concediendo patentes que extienden la vida comercial de vafidemstat. Esto no es poca cosa: estamos hablando de dos décadas de exclusividad en mercados emergentes. Esto es clave para el futuro de la compañía.
Perspectivas de Jefferies: valoración y potencial
Jefferies, una firma de inversión con peso en Wall Street, no ha tardado en sacar la calculadora. Y sus números son, cuanto menos, interesantes. Valoran a vafidemstat en 1,5 euros por acción. Lo desglosan en 1 euro por su potencial en TLP y 0,5 euros por su aplicación en esquizofrenia. No está nada mal para un medicamento que aún está en fase de desarrollo.
Jefferies también tiene puesto el ojo en iadademstat, otro inhibidor de LSD1 que Oryzon está desarrollando para tratamientos oncológicos. Le dan el mismo valor que a vafidemstat: 1,5 euros por acción. En total, la firma ha puesto un precio objetivo para Oryzon de 2,30 euros por acción. Echando cuentas, eso supone un potencial de revalorización del 29% desde su precio actual.
