Las aerolíneas españolas han llevado los precios de los vuelos nacionales a niveles récord. En agosto de 2024, el coste de los billetes se disparó un 21,1% en comparación con el año anterior, superando incluso cualquier incremento registrado desde 2018.
Esta subida histórica se suma a una tendencia al alta que se inició a principios de año, llevando los precios a un incremento acumulado del 30%.
El precio de los vuelos nacionales alcanza niveles récord
Curiosamente, mientras los aeropuertos nacionales alcanzaban un récord de 1,7 millones de movimientos de aeronaves en agosto, los precios de los vuelos nacionales se dispararon.
Los últimos datos del IPC, publicados por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística, revelan un aumento del 21,1% en los precios de los vuelos nacionales durante el mes de agosto. Esta cifra supera los incrementos de julio (11,7%) y junio (12,3%), evidenciando una tendencia al alza en las tarifas aéreas que se están intensificando cada vez más.
Y como incremento se suma a una subida acumulada del 30,1% desde enero, en el coste de los billetes para desplazamientos nacionales. Lo que significa que un billete que costaba 87 euros a principios de año, ahora alcanza los 124,8 euros.
En pocas palabras, volar por España se ha vuelto un 43% más caro en menos de un año, golpeando duramente el bolsillo de los viajeros.
Vuelos internacionales se mantienen estables
Los boletos de avión, incluyendo los internacionales, experimentaron un alza del 1.4% en agosto, lo que representa la mitad de la subida en los vuelos nacionales. De hecho, los billetes de avión hacia el extranjero experimentaron una reducción del 8,1% durante el mes de agosto.
Por su parte, los datos de viajes aéreos de agosto revelan un crecimiento significativo. Los vuelos internacionales registraron un aumento del 9,6% en comparación con el mismo mes del año pasado, transportando a 22.561.824 pasajeros.
De manera destacada, los aeropuertos gestionados por Aena registraron un crecimiento histórico en agosto, recibiendo un total de 32.116.068 pasajeros. Esto representaría un incremento del 7,4% en comparación con el mismo mes de 2023.
En cuanto a los vuelos nacionales, aunque también experimentaron un incremento del 2,7%, la cifra total de pasajeros se ubicó en 9.483.480.
Cabe mencionar que, tras experimentar un pico histórico en sus precios durante el verano de 2022, los boletos para vuelos internacionales han iniciado un descenso sostenido. En concreto, los precios se dispararon más de un 20% tanto en julio como en agosto, cifras nunca antes vistas.
Ahora bien, el precio promedio de los vuelos internacionales en agosto fue de 120,4 euros, mostrando un pequeño aumento respecto a julio. Sin embargo, sigue siendo menor 4,4 euros, que los vuelos nacionales.
Es importante aclarar que, durante casi 21 meses consecutivos desde el inicio de la pandemia, los precios de los vuelos internacionales experimentaron una constante disminución.
En conclusión, la escalada de los precios de los billetes de avión en España ha consolidado una tendencia al alza que se ha mantenido durante todo el año.
Aunque aún no se han identificado las causas exactas de este incremento tan pronunciado, factores como el aumento del precio del combustible pueden influir. Además, se deben considerar la recuperación del turismo tras la pandemia y una posible reducción de la oferta podrían estar influyendo en esta situación.
